Watts Premier RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System Problem Solved

Do you have Watts Premier RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System in your house? If you have purchased the Watts Premier RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System from Amazon or at local Costco, you probably already found out the system has some problems.

They are big problems, but they are annoying problems. Now I have the perfect solutions for the system and it has been running just fine in my house.

  1. The faucet keeps dripping as fast as 1 drop per second rate.
  2. The system non-stop running for hours after just use half cup of water.
  3. water came out behind the faucet base
Do you have any of this problem? Well. You will have the problem eventually.

So here are my solutions for those problems.
1. Faucet is dripping constantly
RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System is using a simple design with a bolt inside the faucet, which has two rings that may cause the leaking. You can call Premier and get a replacement bolt for free. If this doesn't solve the problem, you will need a new faucet base. The shut off valve in the faucet may not seal properly. So the water came from the button blue tube will push the water out of the faucet. In my case, I've replaced the bolt 3 times.  I finally got a new faucet based from Watts Premier, and it solved the dripping problem. So obviously, there is possible defect in the faucet base.

2. System non-stop running for hours
This is a sign of water pressure trouble. There are two reasons why the water keeps running.
  • Pressure in the tank is too low. If you take has pressure below 5-7 PSI, the system think the tank is empty. I recommend to pump air into the Watts Premier RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System tank when it's empty. The ideal pressure is 10PSI when the tank is empty
  • The automatically shut-off valve box is broken. It is possible that your main water pressure hikes can cause the water shut-off valve damage. You can purchase the replacement part for about $8.00. It's also recommended to purchase the water pressure regulator, which is about $34.00. This water pressure regulator will keep the income water at ideal water pressure between 60PSI to 80PSI

3. Water lead from the back hole of the faucet
There is a little drain hole at the back of the faucet to prevent the dirty water from going back to the red tube and the filter. So the water won't get contaminated. And you won't be drinking dirty water from your drain pipe.

The system was designed to calculate how much water the Watts Premier RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System has been used. However, the battery only last few weeks. So it's pretty much useless.

So the solution to stop leaking is to bypass the faucet and connect red tube and black tube directly. You can buy a little connector at local hardware store for around $6.00.
Please make sure the connector is higher than your drain pipe, otherwise, the dirty water may still come back to the red tube and filter. Click the following image to see bigger diagram.

Ever since I put in the new replacement part, it's been a wonderful system to produce clean and drinkable water.
